Acquired Brain Injury Counselling
What is ABI?
Acquired brain injury (ABI) is a term that refers to any damage to the brain that occurs after birth, due to various causes such as trauma, stroke, infection, disease, tumour, lack of oxygen, or substance abuse. A traumatic brain injury (TBI1) is a type of ABI that is caused by an external force, such as a blow to the head, a fall, or an impact accident. A TBI can damage the brain in different ways, depending on how severe and the location of the injury.
